Without giving much information on what happened before and what is going to happen next, The Journey tells the story of a young man who, by certain circumstances, decides to travel with a zebra to another city.
At first we had to come up with a character and something that happend to that character.
The story changed and evolved during the weeks the project lasted, so several stroyboards were made throughout the process.
I focused a lot on the style so the visual aspect of the story, as well as the music, puts certain mood on the viewer to empathise with the characters and the situations.
The characters were performed by schoolmates Matilda and Kyohei, and the scenes were shot on a green screen. That allowed me to learn (the hard way!) the tricks of keying green screens.
The backgrounds of the scenes were collages then placed as 3D layers in AfterEffects to create a sense of depth.
